ABOUT THE ARTIST

Janet Little's images transcend the merely scenic to explore unexpected and unexamined details of the natural and manmade world. Janet specializes in capturing details that intrigue, surprise, and often disorient the viewer, inviting a closer look at subjects that may normally attract little attention.

Janet's artistic inclinations began in early childhood and were honed during her years of work as a graphic designer specializing in publications, identity, and advertising. While earning a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from Towson University and a master's in Publications Design from University of Baltimore, she also worked as an announcer for radio stations in the Baltimore-Washington area, including the notable free-form music stations WHFS-FM and WRNR-FM.

Janet now shoots almost entirely in digital format, using Nikon gear and a Mac-based digital darkroom. Her photography has been featured on book and CD covers, as well as in private collections and galleries.

She resides in Annapolis, Maryland, with her husband and their three dogs, a husky mix and two pugs. When she is not behind a camera, she enjoys yoga, music, racquetball, kayaking, reading, and travel.
